Amy Hurford

Dr. Amy Hurford is an Associate Professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador jointly appointed in the Biology Department and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Dr. Hurford is a mathematical biologist specializing in population biology with applications to public health, Arctic rabies, climate warming, sea lice, and antimicrobial resistance. Dr. Hurford provided modelling support to the government of Newfoundland and Labrador during the COVID-19 pandemic, has a leadership role in 3 of the recently funded NSERC Emerging Infectious Disease Modelling networks, is a senior editor at the Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, and is the chair of the CAIMS Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Membership committee.
